Why this shop exists

Learning Press began in a real classroom, with a gap between what the research says about learning to read and the materials actually available to teachers. The resources here were created to close that gap — one explicit, systematic lesson at a time.

Grounded in the science of reading

Decades of research are clear about how children learn to read: through explicit, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Every Learning Press resource is designed around those principles — sounds before letters, decoding before guessing, cumulative review before moving on.

Classroom-tested before published

Nothing is published here until it has been used with real students, revised after real lessons, and shown to work. When you download a Learning Press resource, it has already earned its place in a working classroom.
