CKLA-Aligned Grade 1 Skills Unit 2 Worksheets (Lessons 1–19)

95 full-page activities for CKLA-aligned Grade 1 Skills Unit 2, Lessons 1–19: five pages for each lesson, one activity per page. Unit 2 is where first graders move from short vowels to long-vowel spellings, and these pages follow it lesson by lesson: ee (Lesson 1), a_e (3), i_e (6), o_e (8) and u_e (12), plus the tricky words he, she, be, me, we (Lesson 2), they, their (5), my, by (10) and you, your (14).

Every page is written to its lesson. Student-read words are checked against the sounds taught so far, so a child never meets a spelling that has not been taught yet. The stories are original, with recurring animal characters, and every story question asks the child to choose or write: nothing is filled in ahead of time.

How the pages work: word-work pages show exactly one gray worked example, and place-or-write pages let children put a card in a box or simply write the word. No cutting is ever required, and every write-in box is sized for first-grade handwriting. Page types change from page to page: read and match, circle the picture or word, word chains, word-family houses, sorts, tricky-word color-by-word and path puzzles, naming words, story order, bingo, fluency rows and short stories with questions.
