140 full-page activities for CKLA-aligned Grade 1 Skills Unit 4, Lessons 1–28: five pages for each lesson, one activity per page. Unit 4 moves first graders into r-controlled vowels and word endings, and these pages follow it lesson by lesson: er (Lesson 1), contractions (2), ar (4), or and two-syllable words (7), -ing (8), -ed and past-tense verbs (12) and -ness and -less (18), plus the tricky words today, yesterday and tomorrow (8).

Every page is written to its lesson. Student-read words are checked against the sounds taught so far, so a child never meets a spelling or ending that has not been taught yet. The stories are original farm stories, and every story question asks the child to choose or write: nothing is filled in ahead of time.

How the pages work: word-work pages show exactly one gray worked example, and place-or-write pages let children put a card in a box or simply write the word. No cutting is ever required, and every write-in box is sized for first-grade handwriting. Page types change from page to page: contractions, syllable and add-an-ending pages, now-or-before verbs, naming and describing words, spelling words and dictation, planning, drafting and editing a description, word hunts, rolls, bingo, fluency rows and short stories with questions.
