110 full-page activities for CKLA-aligned Grade 1 Skills Unit 5, Lessons 1–22: five pages for each lesson, one activity per page. Unit 5 builds on the spellings first graders already know, and these pages follow it lesson by lesson: doubled letters in the middle of words (pp, bb, ck, gg, tt, dd, ff, rr, ll), plural nouns with -s and -es (Lesson 1), tch (6), ge (8), ve (14) and wr (16), plus the tricky words how (Lesson 2), coach (12) and picture (14).

Every page is written to its lesson. Student-read words are checked against the sounds taught so far, so a child never meets a spelling that has not been taught yet. The stories are original camp stories, and every story question asks the child to choose or write, and to name the sentence that proves the answer: nothing is filled in ahead of time.

How the pages work: word-work pages show exactly one gray worked example, and place-or-write pages let children put a card in a box or simply write the word. No cutting is ever required, and every write-in box is sized for first-grade handwriting. Page types change from page to page: word hunts, plural and add-an-ending pages, statements, questions and exclamations, sorts, spelling words and assessments, planning and drafting an opinion, roll-and-read, fluency rows and short stories with questions.

Each lesson at a glance:
• Lessons 1–5: pp, bb, k sounds, plural nouns and -ed endings
• Lessons 6–10: tch, gg, soft g and ge, with a first paragraph
• Lessons 11–15: tt, dd, ff, ve and opinion writing
• Lessons 16–22: wr, ll, writing what you like, review and a unit wrap-up

All content is original. It follows the scope of the Core Knowledge Foundation's free first-edition Grade 1 Skills sequence, Unit 5.
