Fundations-Aligned Partner Reader's Theater · Level 1 Unit 10

2 partner reader's theater scripts for Fundations® Level 1, Unit 10: “Splash at the Pit” and “Gus and the Plants”. Each script is written for two readers, Partner A and Partner B. Every word is decodable through Unit 10 or is a taught trick word, so partners can read the script on their own.

Each script opens with a watercolor cover scene that shows the two parts. The script itself is about 20 lines (20 per script), split evenly between Partner A and Partner B, with a few lines both partners read together. After reading, a Think and Talk page has 4 multiple-choice questions plus a “say it with feeling” fluency line, and a Write About It page has 3 written questions to answer in whole sentences. A one-page answer key covers both scripts.

• “Splash at the Pit”: Hank (a ram) and Chip (a chipmunk), 20 lines
• “Gus and the Plants”: Dot (a kid) and Gus (a goat), 20 lines

In this unit — Skill: 3-letter blends; suffixes -ed, -ing. Sounds: 5-sound words, 3-letter blends, suffixes -ed and -ing. New trick words: any, many, how, now, down, out, about, our (in bold in the scripts).

Use it for partner reading, fluency and expression practice, small groups or literacy centers. It comes in two editions, Color and Printer-Friendly (one PDF each, 11 pages: the 2 scripts with their question pages, then the answer key).
