Fundations-Aligned Partner Reader's Theater · Level 1 Unit 7

2 partner reader's theater scripts for Fundations® Level 1, Unit 7: “Sing, Hank, Sing!” and “The Top Bunk”. Each script is written for two readers, Partner A and Partner B. Every word is decodable through Unit 7 or is a taught trick word, so partners can read the script on their own.

Each script opens with a watercolor cover scene that shows the two parts. The script itself is about 20 lines (19–20 per script), split evenly between Partner A and Partner B, with a few lines both partners read together. After reading, a Think and Talk page has 4 multiple-choice questions plus a “say it with feeling” fluency line, and a Write About It page has 3 written questions to answer in whole sentences. A one-page answer key covers both scripts.

Scripts in this unit:
• “Sing, Hank, Sing!”: Hank (a ram) and Jill (a kid), 20 lines
• “The Top Bunk”: Russ (a kid) and Dot (a kid), 19 lines

In this unit — Skill: -ng and -nk endings (ing, ank, unk). Sounds: Glued sounds ang, ing, ong, ung, ank, ink, onk, unk. New trick words: why, by, my, try, put, two, too, very, also, some, come (in bold in the scripts).

Use it for partner reading, fluency and expression practice, small groups or literacy centers. It comes in two editions, Color and Printer-Friendly (one PDF each, 11 pages: the 2 scripts with their question pages, then the answer key).
