Fundations-Aligned Partner Reader's Theater · Level 2 Unit 1

2 partner reader's theater scripts for Fundations® Level 2, Unit 1: “The Lost Sock” and “The Flat Tent”. Each script is written for two readers, Partner A and Partner B. Every word is decodable through Unit 1 or is a taught trick word, so partners can read the script on their own.

Each script opens with a watercolor cover scene that shows the two parts. The script itself is about 20 lines (19–20 per script), split evenly between Partner A and Partner B, with a few lines both partners read together. After reading, a Think and Talk page has 4 multiple-choice questions plus a “say it with feeling” fluency line, and a Write About It page has 3 written questions to answer in whole sentences. A one-page answer key covers both scripts.

• “The Lost Sock”: Max (a pup) and Beth (a hen), 19 lines
• “The Flat Tent”: Kim (a kid) and Zack (a kid), 20 lines

In this unit — Skill: Review: short vowels, digraphs, blends. Sounds: Closed syllables, digraphs, blends, digraph blends, c / k / ck. New trick words: none new in this unit (the scripts use review trick words from earlier units).

Use it for partner reading, fluency and expression practice, small groups or literacy centers. It comes in two editions, Color and Printer-Friendly (one PDF each, 11 pages: the 2 scripts with their question pages, then the answer key).
