Fundations-Aligned Partner Reader's Theater · Level 3 Bonus Unit

2 partner reader's theater scripts for Fundations® Level 3, Bonus Unit: “The Unlucky Camping Saturday” and “The Nonstop Tractor”. Each script is written for two readers, Partner A and Partner B. Every word is decodable through the Bonus Unit or is a taught trick word, so partners can read the script on their own.

Each script opens with a watercolor cover scene that shows the two parts. The script itself is about 20 lines (18 per script), split evenly between Partner A and Partner B, with a few lines both partners read together. After reading, a Think and Talk page has 4 multiple-choice questions plus a “say it with feeling” fluency line, and a Write About It page has 3 written questions to answer in whole sentences. A one-page answer key covers both scripts.

Scripts in this unit:
• “The Unlucky Camping Saturday”: Fern (a camper) and Mark (a camper), 18 lines
• “The Nonstop Tractor”: Curt (the driver) and Pam (the helper), 18 lines

In this unit — Skill: Prefixes and Latin roots. Sounds: Prefixes and Latin roots; ct blend in roots. New trick words: family, Saturday (in bold in the scripts).

Use it for partner reading, fluency and expression practice, small groups or literacy centers. It comes in two editions, Color and Printer-Friendly (one PDF each, 11 pages: the 2 scripts with their question pages, then the answer key).
