Fundations-Aligned Partner Reader's Theater · Level 3 Unit 2

2 partner reader's theater scripts for Fundations® Level 3, Unit 2: “The Sneaky Mice Contest” and “The Sledding Slip-Up”. Each script is written for two readers, Partner A and Partner B. Every word is decodable through Unit 2 or is a taught trick word, so partners can read the script on their own.

Each script opens with a watercolor cover scene that shows the two parts. The script itself is about 20 lines (20 per script), split evenly between Partner A and Partner B, with a few lines both partners read together. After reading, a Think and Talk page has 4 multiple-choice questions plus a “say it with feeling” fluency line, and a Write About It page has 3 written questions to answer in whole sentences. A one-page answer key covers both scripts.

• “The Sledding Slip-Up”: Drew (a nervous sledder) and Sue (a sledding pro), 20 lines

In this unit — Skill: Doubling rule; irregular plurals. Sounds: 1-1-1 doubling, suffix review and irregular plurals. New trick words: again, from (in bold in the scripts).
