Each book is decodable: it uses only the sounds taught up to its unit, plus trick words from earlier units and that unit's new trick words, so students can read real facts on their own.

Every book has 12 story pages with a watercolor picture on each (36–60 words a page), then Think About It (5 multiple-choice questions), Write About It (3 written questions), 5 word-work pages and its own answer key with sample answers.
