CKLA-Aligned Grade 1 Skills Full-Year Bundle (Units 1–7)

The whole year of CKLA-aligned Grade 1 Skills practice in one bundle: all seven units, 166 lessons and 830 full-page activities, five pages for every lesson, one activity per page. Units 1–7 build the alphabetic code a few letters at a time, from the first letters and sounds through long vowels, vowel teams, r-controlled vowels, doubled letters, soft c and g, ai, ay and oa, and the grammar and writing that go with them, and each unit's pages follow its lessons one by one.

How the pages work: word-work pages show exactly one gray worked example, and place-or-write pages let children put a card in a box or simply write the word. No cutting is ever required, and every write-in box is sized for first-grade handwriting. Page types change from page to page: sorts, word chains, word-family houses, tracing, spelling words and assessments, fluency rows, original stories and fables with comprehension questions where every question asks the child to choose or write, and writing pages for narratives, opinions, letters and instructions. Student-read words are checked against the sounds taught so far, so a child never meets a spelling that has not been taught yet.

Every unit comes with the same formats: Color and Printer-Friendly editions (black-and-white pictures, identical text) and a separate Answer Key, so you can hand out the student pages without it. All content is original. It follows the scope of the Core Knowledge Foundation's free first-edition Grade 1 Skills sequence, Units 1–7. It is not tied to any other edition of the program, and none of its text is copied.
